In east central Illinois - just minutes from Springfield, Decatur, Champaign, Effingham and surrounding communities--the Eagle Creek/Wolf Creek sites, facing each other across the central portion of Lake Shelbyville, provide the perfect setting for outdoor recreation, natural relaxation and luxurious accommodations for a day, a weekend, or even longer. Four miles southeast of Findlay, the Shelby County sites encompass 11,100-acres of water, 250 miles of shoreline and large tracts of carefully maintained indigenous woodland ideal for camping, hiking, horseback riding, snowmobiling, fishing, water skiing, pontoon boating, windsurfing or just plain bobbing and drifting on the glittering expanse of the lake.

In east central Illinois - just minutes from Springfield, Decatur, Champaign, Effingham and surrounding communities--the Eagle Creek/Wolf Creek sites, facing each other across the central portion of Lake Shelbyville, provide the perfect setting for outdoor recreation, natural relaxation and luxurious accommodations for a day, a weekend, or even longer. Four miles southeast of Findlay, the Shelby County sites encompass 11,100-acres of water, 250 miles of shoreline and large tracts of carefully maintained indigenous woodland ideal for camping, hiking, horseback riding, snowmobiling, fishing, water skiing, pontoon boating, windsurfing or just plain bobbing and drifting on the glittering expanse of the lake. In addition to the small, friendly, wooded campgrounds and the action on the lake, large herds of deer frequent these areas and always are an exciting and inspiring sight.. Portions of the park have been cleared of physical barriers and are accessible to disabled visitors. The Department of Natural Resources also manages the Shelbyville State Fish and Wildlife Area, the 3,000-acre Kaskaskia Unit near Allenville and the 3,000-acre West Okaw Unit near Bethany. Both are within 10 miles of the park and provide additional hunting opportunities.

From Chicago: I-57 S to Exit 192 E. Co. Rd. 1000 N.(166 mi) Keep Right at fork, follow signs for Mattoon/Lake Shelbyville and merge onto E. Co. Rd. 1000 N. Cross Hwy 121 to County Hwy 4 at Coles. Continue on Co.Hwy 4 (2200 N in Shelby County) Cross the Lake, turn Left onto Co. Rd. 2200 E in 1 mile, turn Left onto Co. Rd. 2025 N and continue into Eagle Creek. From St Louis: I-70 E to Exit 160 IL-32/IL-33. Keep Left at Fork. Turn Left onto IL-33. Turn Right onto IL-32 N. Turn Right onto IL-16 E/IL-32 N. Turn Left to continue on IL-32 N at Windsor. Continue on IL-32 N to Co.Rd. 2200 N (Bruce-Findlay Rd). Turn West toward Findlay. Continue on Co.Rd. 2200 N. Turn Left onto Co. Rd. 2200 E in 1 mile, turn Left onto Co. Rd. 2025 N and continue into Eagle Creek.
