In east central Illinois just minutes from Springfield, Decatur, Champaign, Effingham and surrounding communities, the Wolf Creek/Eagle Creek sites, facing each other across the central portion of Lake Shelbyville, provide the perfect setting for outdoor recreation and natural relaxation for a day, a weekend, or even longer. Eight miles northwest of Windsor, Wolf Creek State Park and the adjoining Eagle Creek State Recreation Area encompass 11,100 acres of water, 250 miles of shoreline and large tracts of carefully maintained indigenous woodlands ideal for camping, horseback riding, snowmobiling, boat fishing, water skiing, pontoon boating, windsurfing or just plain bobbing and drifting on the glittering expanse of the lake itself.

In east central Illinois just minutes from Springfield, Decatur, Champaign, Effingham and surrounding communities, the Wolf Creek/Eagle Creek sites, facing each other across the central portion of Lake Shelbyville, provide the perfect setting for outdoor recreation and natural relaxation for a day, a weekend, or even longer. Eight miles northwest of Windsor, Wolf Creek State Park and the adjoining Eagle Creek State Recreation Area encompass 11,100 acres of water, 250 miles of shoreline and large tracts of carefully maintained indigenous woodlands ideal for camping, horseback riding, snowmobiling, boat fishing, water skiing, pontoon boating, windsurfing or just plain bobbing and drifting on the glittering expanse of the lake itself. In addition to visiting the small, friendly wooded campgrounds or taking part in the action on the lake, swimming is available from the beach. You can also take a leisurely stroll through nearby forests. An abundance of deer, pheasant, rabbits, wild turkey and songbirds are almost always visible. Portions of the park have been cleared of physical barriers and are accessible to disabled visitors.

From Chicago: I-57 S to Exit 192 E. Co. Rd. 1000 N.(166 mi) Keep Right at fork, follow signs for Mattoon/Lake Shelbyville and merge onto E. Co. Rd. 1000 N. Cross Hwy 121 to County Hwy 4 at Coles. Continue on Co.Hwy 4 (2200 N in Shelby County) Turn Left onto Co. Rd. 2500 E, Continue in Wolf Creek. From St Louis: I-70 E to Exit 160 IL-32/IL-33. Keep Left at Fork. Turn Left onto IL-33. Turn Right onto IL-32 N. Turn Right onto IL-16 E/IL-32 N. Turn Left to continue on IL-32 N at Windsor. Continue on IL-32 N to Co.Rd. 2200 N (Bruce-Findlay Rd). Turn West toward Findlay. Continue on Co.Rd. 2200 N. Turn Left on Co. Rd. 2500 E (Wolf Creek Rd.) Continue to Wolf Creek.
